"Geophysics for the Common Man" or "Get along little Species!"

An interesting article about the Earth, its makeup, and some very nasty things that happened long ago and WILL happen again... and yet the Human race does little to help itself in the "long run". Yes, sooner or later we HAVE to Move away... or perish permanently.

An excerpt from "Geophysics for the common man - pt. 2 Fun with disasters":

"The answer for survival is to get off this damn planet.

Earth is a fine *starter home* but the problems with it are beyond repairing.

It is hostile to life, for all the fact it harbors life.

99.9% of all species that ever lived are extinct.

Environmentalists should *want* us to move industry to the vacuum of space where terrestrial pollution will not occur.

Unlimited energy is available from the Sun until we need to get further away from it to explore.

I want the meek to inherit the Earth.

So the planet can kill them." - from "Dumb Looks Still Free" on June 18, 2006

I do not want to tell this story...

But I need to. I do not want to write these words at all. But I must. I am not yet sure why it is so important, however I am hoping that the reasons will become apparent to me as I write. perhaps they will become apparent to you, the reader, as well. Perhaps not. This story's reason is known only to itself. That might imply the story has a life, which of course, it does. Does not every story have a Life? Doesn't it come Alive to the reader? A good one does, but you sense I mean more than that, don't you? True, it is more than that. This story Lives.

I have tried to not tell it for many long years. Yet I have always known I Would tell it. A contradiction to be sure, but one I am sure is familiar to most people. We often know certain events will take place, even while our conscious selves refuse to acknowledge the inevitability our inner self is so sure of. No matter. For what it's worth, I have avoided it will all my strength, and That is quite considerable.

What makes it so important? I can't tell you. I can only tell the story, and I as I have mentioned, let IT tell you all you need to know. It won't come quickly.

It could shatter Your world, but most likely it will make no difference whatsoever. None.
